The after care for microblading, powder brows or nano brows can change almost completely depending on the artist you choose. I believe that there is no right or wrong, each artist will run their tests and see what heals best within their technique.
To understand microblading after care, or the after care for semi permanent makeup, or after care for permanent makeup, we also have to understand that the skin will go through an external and an internal healing process. The external we can control, the internal we cannot. Each process can take 2 to 3 weeks, thats why we ask for the second session to be done after 30 days.
Everything I'm going to say here will be based on my experience, after trying several different ways. For me, this way is how it heals the best:
Things you need TO DO during the external healing process:
First day:
- Leave the eyebrow without wetting, without touching, for a few hours, after that time, wash gently with water and neutral soap, clean well and apply the balm.
For the next 10 days:
- Wash and apply the balm morning and night.
Think with me, if the skin has dead skin, oils, dirt, sweat, how is it going to heal properly? A dirty environment can contribute to infection and consequently thicker scabs will form. Removing the scab is the only way to remove the ink during healing, which one is easier to remove? Thick or thin scabs? Of course, the procedure execution time can greatly influence the inflammatory process, but this is a matter for my students, let's continue...
Things you need TO AVOID during the external healing process:
For 7 days after the procedure:
- Avoid sweating
- Avoid oily foods
- Avoid super hot baths because of the steam
For 15 days after the procedure:
- Avoid leaving the shower pressure directly on the brows, this can remove the scabs
- Avoid sun, sea, pool, sauna, bathtub, make-up and sunscreen on your eyebrows
The technique I do is superficial, performed on the first layer of the skin, to avoid migration, expansion of the ink and color change over the years. I know for sure that you know someone who has a pmu that became gray over the years and a little crooked because of the amount of ink implanted and it was done so deep, it ended up like a tattoo.
Because my technique is more superficial, the process becomes more sensitive, fragile, and also thats why it needs to be done in two sessions. I guarantee you'll be happy with the final result in the short, medium and long term, it will last from 6 to 24 months, it will lighten slowly until it disappears completely.
